What languages do you speak? Has it been helpful in your career and why?

I speak Portuguese, Spanish, English, Italian. It has been helpful as an interpreter, it is my job to speak different languages.

Can you tell us what you do on a daily basis in your job (tasks, activities, responsibilities…)?

Interpreting, researching.

If anything, what would you change about your job?

No, wouldn’t change anything.

Would you recommend others to do the same job? why?

Yes. Because it as a very interesting job, you get to meet new people every day.

How did you start in this industry/career?

I started because I am multilingual. I have always liked languages.

What qualifications do you have? Has it been helpful to find this job?

I do have Community Interpreter level 3 qualification, which helps to learn interpreting techniques.

In your career to date, have you learned any lessons?

Many lessons, every day is a new challenge.

Is there something you are very proud of achieving in your career to date?

Yes. To be able to help people.

Do you work well as part of a team? Individually?

Could do both.

Do you work long hours? Any other challenges?

Yes I do work long hours. Challenges are to work in different places.

What is the best thing about your job? The worst thing?

The best thing is to get to know new people, the worst is to work in many different locations.

If you could, what would you do differently if you were starting your career now?

Nothing really.

What are your objectives for the future?

Get level 7 in legal interpreting.
